There are many reasons for a sudden negative behaviour change at school: social / friendship issues, lack of connection with the teacher, not coping emotionally or, of course, struggling academically. Sometimes, your child will not be able to explain what has caused their changed behaviour. If so, they need help to work out exactly what their issues are, and then the confidence and language to clearly and politely explain the problem and their desired solution to parents and teachers. This is where a life coach can help. And, if your child agrees, you as the parent/s can also attend coaching sessions – either with your child or in parallel, to gain an understanding of the tools your child is learning, and how best to support them. Experience shows solutions can usually be quickly found to allow re-engagement with learning.
