BELIEVE in your ability to help. OK, maybe your maths and spelling are a bit rusty, or perhaps you do not even understand the work they are doing. It is NEVER too late to get help to overcome these hurdles. Your child seeing YOU learning is the best motivation there is, especially when you are learning alongside them, being open and curious and unafraid of not knowing or getting something wrong. Sure, this takes courage, and may require unpicking some of the issues left over from your own educational experiences, but imagine the confidence you will gain and demonstrate for your child.
